Concept
My design intention is create an alive and energetic space that speaks to every person
in the space. Diane is an individual who is constantly active and passionate about what she enjoys. She often has up to 25 people to come over at her place for her charity activity. She also enjoys playing cello and travelling other countries to play golf. Her active personality is also well presented in her personal collection such as paintings from Canadian Group of Eleven and pieces of contemporary furniture like Knoll and Herman Miller, which shows a lot of variety of colours and forms, and dynamic motion. Therefore, my concept is movement. Artworks, music, furniture, and every other element in this space will create one big movement that enhances a powerful and lively personality of her, which attracts both her and visitors.
Design
This concept could be achieved by creating an open social space that provides interaction between individuals, people and space. I will integrate saturated and vibrant colours into each detail of the space that matches her paintings. Curve, linear and abstract patters and forms will create a movement and bring fresh and powerful environment by implementing contemporary furniture pieces and detailing. Overall, I intend to create a space that attracts people to give excitements and joyful experience.
